The setting for the 2007 Festival will be the silvery towers of Johnstown
Castle which will provide the perfect setting for the 2007 Wexford Festival
Opera in a temporary theatre created by Joe Vanek. The Theatre will be annexed to the Castle to create a significant performing opportunity of the 21st Century, which will ensure the continuity of the Festival in a unique way while building of the new Theatre is underway.

WEXFORD FESTIVAL OPERA 2008
October 16 –November 02 2008

Wexford Festival Opera returns to its original site on High Street to the brand new state of the art Theatre. The new theatre will have a rounder shaped auditorium to accommodate 750 people creating a greater connection to the stage and a heightened sense of occasion. Wexford’s traditional forestage, which brings artists
and audiences closer together, will be enhanced, while an increased orchestra
pit will provide both comfort and flexibility for the musicians. Wexford audiences, an especially sociable lot will not be disappointed with the increased foyer spaces. The enhanced bar facilities will be an important addition to the Wexford experience as all Wexfordians look forward to an exciting new era.
