Wexford's historic Town Trail is now up and running

The 3.3km route around Wexford Town takes thirteen different historic locations and should take about on hour and a half to complete. Wexford was one of thirty six out of one hundred designates "historic towns" to be included in phase one of the initiative to develop Historic Town Trails by providing a range of tourists signage, interprative, orientation and directional signs.

The aim of the project is to maximise the tourism potential of the historic towns in question and enhance the visitors overall expoerience, by developing a nationally coherent, consistent and trustworthy set of pedestrian signs
This is to ensure that the experience of vbisitros to the various towns is pleasant, stimulating and welcoming and that they can explore an historic town with ease and comfort.

Failte Ireland under the National Development Plan 2007 - 2013 provided funding for the initiative
